Here's a look at cookbook author, recent Beard Award winner, and Southern Foodways Alliance director John T. Edge's new book, The Truck Food Cookbook: 150 Recipes and Ramblings from America's Best Restaurants on Wheels. For this cookbook, which focuses on the food trucks and carts of twelve different cities in the US, including Seattle, Tucson, Madison, New York City, Houston, Austin, and Durham.

Featuring profiles of entire, city-wide scenes as well as individual trucks, The Truck Food Cookbook has 150 recipes for all kinds of dishes you had no idea were tragically missing from your life: Sausage and gravy waffles. Scrapple tacos. Macaroni and cheese sandwiches. And, of course, Sonoran Hot dogs — that is, a bacon-wrapped hot dog from Arizona with all kinds of stuff on it, including beans.

The Truck Food Cookbook is out now from Workman (buy on Amazon). Below, a preview from Google Books.
