Watch A Day in the Life of Questlove Battling David Chang

The latest installment of the Hulu video series A Day in the Life (co-created by Morgan Spurlock) follows Roots drummer Questlove on a typical day — that is, a typical day involving a fried chicken throwdown with Momofuku chef David Chang on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Or, as Questlove declares, "probably the greatest David and Goliath story in the food world."

The musician explains the history behind his fried chicken — "which has set a firestorm in the food blogosphere" — as well as how the showdown with Chang came to be thanks to Twitter. There's some behind-the-scenes footage of Fallon rehearsing the bit and then footage of the actual competition with Chang declared the winner in a landslide. Afterward, Questlove heads backstage joking about a recount and saying, "I'm not suicidal, but I am disappointed."
