Several animal rights groups are suing the USDA for violating the Poultry Products Inspection Act (PPIA), which forbids the sale of diseased animal organs. Their argument? Foie gras is inherently "diseased" due to force feeding. Meanwhile, Mark Pastore of Incanto in San Francisco is calling for an end to the violent rhetoric from the anti-foie crowd, writing "It's not possible to achieve a more humane world by using violent language to score political points.
