'Pink Slime' Wire

New, 3 comments

Jeff Stier, of the conservative think tank the National Center for Public Policy Research, thinks that the whole "pink slime" controversy is part of a vast vegetarian/organic conspiracy: "The real (and ridiculous) agenda here is to make us all go organic." Calling "pink slime" an "innovative model of sustainable agriculture," Stier says that food activists (including the NYT's Mark Bittman) "only want us eating grass-fed free-range cattle, if we eat any meat at all."
