Alison Cook torches the Houston location of the Austin-based Torchy's Tacos, giving it zero stars. She writes, "There's no getting around the fact that Torchy’s serves gringo tacos." In response, the Houston location is giving away free tacos tomorrow. Mike Sula tries the housemade hot dog at Allium in Chicago, which "features compartmentalized portions of onions, sport peppers, and giardiniera, as well as squeeze bottles of relish, mustard, and—gasp—ketchup, giving out-of-towners a pass on the forbidden condiment. This is hospitality, after all."

Washington, DC:

Chicago:
Chicago Reader/Mike Sula: Allium

Houston:
