Jack In The Box Apologizes For Employee's Military Insult

New, 2 comments

A Texas military mom says all her son wanted before deploying overseas was a classic American meal: two Jack In The Box tacos and a Breakfast Jack. What he got instead was a tall glass of Oh no, you didn't.

Dana Clover says a Jack In The Box employee insulted her son's military service on Tuesday after she asked about a military discount. Reports My Fox Houston:

The employee said, 'No we don't offer the military discount. We have a police officer discount, but we've never had a military one. Why would we? What have they done?'" It was that one line that infuriated the proud Army mom. Clover didn't care about the discount.
Clover then did what any protective mother would do: she went home and blogged about it.

The CEO of Jack In The Box, Linda Lang, left a comment directly on Clover's blog, the Homesteading Housewife. It read, in part:

As Dana notes in her blog, shortly after she contacted us, the restaurant’s area manager called her as did other Jack in the Box representatives. I want to assure all who have weighed in on this that Jack in the Box loves our military.
To make amends, the fast food chain has told Clover that they're implementing sensitivity training, sending a personal apology to Clover's son, and donating pens to kids in Afghanistan who, Clover says, always beg them off soldiers stationed there.
