Andrew Friedman will be publishing a book through Ecco called Chefs, Drugs, and Rock & Roll, an oral history of chefs focusing on the 70s and 80s. Friedman's thesis: "That the same societal forces that produced punk rock and independent film, pop art and the sexual revolution, also drew a band of game changers into the kitchen, where they broke the rules and redefined what we eat and how we eat it." It comes out in 2014. [Toqueland]
