The 'Get a Real Job' Receipt With a 1% Tip Was a Hoax

Turns out it was fake: a spokesperson for True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach tells The Smoking Gun that they've been able to locate the merchant copy for the "Get a Real Job" receipt pictured at right, and it wasn't quite as evil as it appeared.

Calling it "altered and exaggerated," the spokesperson said the actual receipt left over $7 on a $33.54 bill, and did not bear career advice for the server. Oh well. That was fun while it lasted.
