Pete Wells files a rather spicy review for Crown in New York, writing things like "Roast chicken...seems to be intended not for people who like the flavor of chicken but for those who aren’t aware it is supposed to have any flavor at all." Jonathan Kauffman heads to blast-from-the-past Roostertail in San Francisco to sample "classic food made with the American palate of the 1950s and the Bay Area expectations of the 2010s in mind."
