Flavor Flav to Open a Restaurant, This Time in Michigan

Relentless restaurateur/rapper Flavor Flav just won't stop opening restaurants. Flav plans to open Flav's Chicken & Ribs on December 16 in Sterling Heights, Michigan (just outside of Detroit). For those keeping track, this will be Flav's third restaurant attempt in the past two years. The first, Flav's Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, shuttered after four months amidst accusations of bounced paychecks. Next, he opened Flavor Flav's House of Flavor in Las Vegas — this time the restaurant held on slightly longer, but shuttered after six months.

According to the Oakland Press, the restaurant will serve "broasted or grilled chicken, smoked ribs, along with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, waffle fries, collard greens, baked beans, corn bread, biscuits, and various kinds of sauces." Also take a look at menu.

After holding an employee orientation on Monday, Flav's Chicken & Ribs posted on Facebook: "There is no question we have the best staff in Metro Detroit, and with hard work and dedication we will all succeed in every way possible." A rep for the company says if the location's successful, more Detroit-area locations will open. Given Flav's track record, though, perhaps it's better to just focus on the one for now. Maybe third time's a charm?
