British chef Ben Spalding has parted ways with John Salt — reportedly over a clash with the owners who wanted him to offer "pub grub" like hamburgers. The 25-year-old up-and-comer — who has cooked at Fat Duck and Le Manoir — was running a 12-course tasting menu that had dishes including a "brick coated in caramel glaze with chicken liver parfait and a 45-component salad."
