Sure, truffles have always been crazy expensive, but the New York Times reports that prices are creeping up even higher in part due to climate change. A team of scientists has theorized that "the truffle habitat has suffered over the past few decades from hotter summers and less precipitation," causing truffles to become more scarce and more expensive.
