Year in 2012

fieri-margarita.jpgThe AP's J.M. Hirsch wraps up the year in food. Oddly, the lede opens with "Most Americans never will sip the watermelon margarita at Guy Fieri's behemoth Times Square restaurant..." The thing is, no Americans will ever be able to to sip it, since the watermelon margarita was pulled from the menu over a month ago after NYT's critic Pete Wells compared it to "nuclear waste." The rest of the write up includes snide comments about New Yorkers that are "too-cool-for-you" and hating on mundane things like cake pops. [AP]
