Friendly's Waiter Comps Family For '100% Shitshow' Meal

New, 2 comments

Welcome to Receiptrocity, bringing you the strangest and most entertaining receipts America's restaurants have to offer. If you've got an interesting, notable or funny receipt, scan/photograph it and send it over to national@eater.com.

eater-receipt-shit-show-friendlys.jpgA family went for dinner at a Friendly's in Nashua, New Hampshire and had a pretty terrible time, causing the restaurant to comp their meal and a waiter to print the words "100% Shitshow" on their receipt. WHDH News reports on what happened: the family had to wait thirty minutes to put in their order, then another 45 for the wrong food, which was actually brought to their table twice.

The family ended up getting the right food and found the whole matter amusing, but the local news seemed to take the matter quite seriously. So did Friendly's, which issued a statement when the story broke: "This type of behavior is completely unacceptable. We are investigating this with the restaurant and will take swift action. We hope we get the opportunity to rectify this directly with the guest." At least the waiter kept it self deprecating and didn't call anyone a fat girl, praise their posteriors, or call for the exorcism of a small child. See a local news segment on the episode below:
