Here's The Foothills Cuisine of Blackberry Farm, the second cookbook out of the Blackberry Farm restaurant/resort in Walland, Tennessee. Written by the inn's proprietor Sam Beall and co-written by Marah Stets, this book focuses on the "Artisans, Chefs, and Smoky Mountain Ancestors" of Blackberry Farm. What that means: lots of photos of the idyllic resort, recipes for preserving seasonal produce — pickled ramps, anybody? — and all kinds of homey, Southern cooking. Example: hoe cakes, cooked on an actual hoe.
Blackberry Farm is the type of place people tend to describe as "unbelievable," "majestic," and "THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD" (those are all from actual Yelp reviews of the place), and it seems Beall and Stets have created a large format, dreamy cookbook to match. Also — is that a guy getting served drinks on horseback? Damn, the place is magic. Here are some photos of the book; The Foothills Cuisine of Blackberry Farm is out now from Clarkson Potter (buy on Amazon).
