Michelin Announces 2013 Stars For Germany

Michelin has announced its 2013 stars for Germany, including a brand new addition to its roster of three star restaurants, chef Kevin Fehling's La Belle Epoque at the Columbia Hotel in Lübeck. This means Germany has a whopping ten three star restaurants, more than any other European country except France.

According to Bloomberg, Michelin awarded seven new restaurants a second star, including Hirschen in Sulzberg. That makes Hirschen chef Douce Steiner the first female chef in Germany to achieve a second star — San Francisco chef Dominique Crenn made the same accomplishment here in the States a few weeks ago. 29 restaurants were awarded one star for the first time.
