Chef Eric Ripert on the relevance of food critics in the era of Yelp:: "The food critic is definitely a reference because Yelp is basically full of people complaining. We have to take into consideration some of the comments, but very often it's not even rational what they say." He also admits to taking a dish off the menu because NYT critic Pete Wells said negative things about it in a review: "...it was not his favorite dish, obviously.
