Next year, British chef Jamie Oliver will expand his restaurant even further with two new Jamie's Italian outposts headed to Russia. While there's been word of an impending Moscow restaurant for about a year now, Big Hospitality reports today that St. Petersburg is getting a Jamie's Italian outpost as well.
Both new restaurants will open in partnership with the Ginza Project group, which operates restaurants in Russia and the U.S. While the Moscow restaurant is slated for a "trendy" building, the St. Petersburg outpost of Jamie's Italian is bound for the historic city center.
Jamie's Italian is already seeking a senior management team for the restaurants that are bothexpected to open in 2013. As the job ad declares, "We have a feeling that these restaurants, in two of Russia's most iconic cities, are going to be something special." And, as the British chef tweeted earlier this year, "To Russia with love, think I'm gonna need a translator and editor @ Russia."
