Here's the cover of the first book off Anthony Bourdain's Ecco imprint, The Prophets of Smoked Meat by blogger/barbecue fanatic Daniel Vaughn. The book covers Texas barbecue and includes "pit masters' recipes, tales of the road — from country meat markets to roadside stands — and a panoramic look at the Lone Star State, where smoked meat is sacred." Sounds about right. No word on where the meat on the cover is from; best guesses in the comments, please.

The Prophets of Smoked Meat will be released on the Bourdain/Ecco imprint May 14 (pre-order on Amazon). Word from Ecco is that the next Bourdain book, a memoir-with-recipes from LA food truck king Roy Choi called Spaghetti Junction: Riding Shotgun with an L.A. Chef, is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2013.
