Chef Andoni Aduriz, whose restaurant Mugaritz holds two Michelin stars and is ranked #3 in the world, has signed on to consult for and manage the restaurant at the 5-star Abadia Retuerta Le Domaine hotel in Ribera del Duero, Spain's wine country. El País' Rosa Rivas reports that this is the first time Aduriz has agreed to this type of gig.
According to the chef and the team from the hotel, they're working to Mugaritzify the menu at the picturesque hotel, which lies about 30 minutes outside of the city of Valladolid. Aduriz promises a "fresh, technical, and imaginative cuisine" that's inspired by the vineyards surrounding the grounds. There'll be a focus on ingredients from the Castilla and León region and game meats. Aduriz is also planning "cultural activities" to take place at the hotel and restaurant.
