Here's a news report from Lester Holt at the Lido Cafe, a beachside restaurant attached to the White Sands Oceanfront Resort & Spa in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. The restaurant was filled with around four feet of sand — the sand he's standing on is actually counter height — because of the storm surge from Hurricane Sandy. Holt says the sand "goes on block after block after block here." Here's the video:
