Cities across the eastern seaboard continue to dig themselves out of Hurricane Sandy's wreckage, and now it's time to figure out where to eat — and what's still too damaged. Eater NY has an updated guide to the city's open restaurants, plus an assessment of the restaurant damages from collapsed canopies to serious flooding.

Meanwhile, Eater Philly reports in that local restaurants are bouncing back after the storm, including the Philly Shake Shack, which opened today for lunch. Eater DC has the full report on what's open in our nation's capital, plus news of a restaurateur-turned-storm-reporter and an Upper Crust Pizzeria outpost that fed all the downtown government workers yesterday. Finally, Eater Boston takes a look at the tree that fell on the home of Fenway Park executive chef and Around the World in 80 Plates finalist Steve "Nookie" Postal.
