Here's London chef/restaurateur Yotam Ottolenghi and his business partner Sam Tamimi's ode to the cosmopolitan cuisine of their hometown, Jerusalem: A Cookbook. In the introduction, the pair writes that as they age, "we have begun to reminisce over old food haunts and forgotten treats. Hummus — which we hardly ever talked about before — has become an obsession." But the book is about much more than hummus: Ottolenghi and Tamimi weave the foods of their youth (in Jewish West and Arab East Jerusalem, respectively) in among the myriad other cultures that make up the city and its food. Jerusalem is out now from Ten Speed Press (buy on Amazon). Below, a trailer.
