Big Tex, patron saint of all things fried and 70-foot-tall mascot of the State Fair of Texas, is no more. The huge cloth-and-wire structure caught fire this morning in what is believed to have been an electrical fire. Big Tex celebrated his 60th anniversary at the fair this year, but now only his hands remain. Fair officials told MyFoxDFW that Big Tex will be rebuilt for next year's fair. Below, local news footage of Big Tex's smoking remains.
