Bloomberg critic Ryan Sutton chimes in on whether or not there's an "epidemic" of tasting menu-only restaurants as the NYT's Pete Wells suggests. Citing a bunch of tasting menu restaurants that "typically find some way to offer lower priced options," Sutton suggests that "[i]t's just another wrinkle in our increasingly diverse world of food." Sutton also maybe coins the term "American Omakase" in reference to restaurants like Alinea, Blanca, and Brooklyn Fare. [The Price Hike]
