First Look: Kevin Gillespie's Cookbook 'Fire in My Belly'

Here's ex-Top Cheftestapant/chef at the upcoming Atlanta restaurant Gunshow Kevin Gillespie's first cookbook, Fire in My Belly. Coming out October 16 from Andrews McMeel (pre-order on Amazon), the book is not a tricked-out restaurant cookbook or a treatise on Southern cuisine, but rather, as Gillespie told Eater Atlanta, "I wrote this book for regular people." The book is an eclectic mix of the types of foods Gillespie enjoys eating: there is a section on Southern food, naturally, but also "foods you thought you hated," healthier selections and a whole section on junk food. Cheddar cheese waffles, anyone? Below, a trailer for the book:
