white-wine-150.jpgNew York Times restaurant critic Pete Wells is not just down on tasting menus, but also isn't a huge fan of the wine pairings that go with them: "I tend not to take the wine-pairing route with very long menus, especially when I'm on the job...the alcohol and the frequent spiels on just what is being poured...can prevent me from paying attention to the food, and remembering it the next day."
