Watch Joël Robuchon Stir the World's Biggest Vat of Mashed Potatoes

Here's what chef Joël Robuchon did this weekend: oversaw the creation of the Guinness-approved world's largest vat of mashed potatoes. According to the AFP, Robuchon and 200 culinary students created 2,297 pounds of mashed potatoes in less than six hours. The task was accomplished by making individual, normal sized batches of of mashed potatoes by hand before tossing them in the huge vat. The potatoes were mashed in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Le Futuroscope amusement park in Poitiers. Apologies, the video below is in French without subtitles, but you do get to see Robuchon stir a giant vat of mashed potatoes, so that's something.
