Japan has been stepping up its Novelty Sandwich game recently, but that doesn't mean it's prepared for this: that's right, the original breadless wondersandwich the KFC Double Down is making its Japanese debut February 2. Can you handle it, Japan?
They're calling it the "Chicken Fillet Double," but there's no mistaking those two pieces of chicken holding bacon, cheese and sauce in their deep fried embrace. (In case you did, in fact, mistake it, there's a helpful diagram in the ad above.) Entire KFCs in Japan have been rebranded in honor of the sandwich. Below, a Japanese news report shows that the media frenzy there is pretty much the same as it was here. (The madness starts at about 1:40.)
