Now that Starbucks has raised its prices across the Northeast and the Sun Belt, people are upset not only that they have to pay more but that this price increase now requires the use of pennies. Pennies! The New York Times reports that a tall coffee purchased in Manhattan now costs a most inconvenient $2.01 — perhaps an attempt to get coffee addicts to switch to credit cards, or maybe just prepare them for more price increases? Either way, this is obviously terrible news. [NYT]
