$100 Margarita

red0rita.jpgThe $100 margarita introduced on New Year's Eve at Los Angeles' Red O is actually a really great bargain, argues Barbara Hansen at the LA Weekly. Home bartenders trying to make the drink themselves would be out $3,000. Why? Well, for starters, the drink is made of gold. Really. Edible gold dust. And a shot of Gran Patrón Burdeos añejo tequila, which will set you back $75. Then there's the molecular caviar and the fresh-made frozen lime sorbet ice cubes. Creator and bartender Steve Calabro calls it the "1 % margarita." [LA Weekly]
