The "Meatball King" of Romania has died, leaving the "best meatballs in the Balkans" behind. Ion Oita's restaurant, The Hunchback, garnered praise from celebrities and politicians the world over for its meatball excellence. The low-key Hunchback in Bucharest was so named for Oita's chef and partner Sandu Andrei's stooped spine, which came from four decades of standing and grilling. Oita allegedly hung himself over the result of a court case involving his wheelchair-bound son. [WaPo]
