Even though Sam Sifton's kids thought a waitress at St. Anselm in Brooklyn was "a little mean," the restaurant still got one star. Julia Kramer is as confused as the waitstaff about what's going on at Chicago's Prasino. Jonathan Kauffman is impressed by the beautiful people at San Francisco's Piccino (but not so much with the pizza). Here are the mid-week reviews:

New York:
New York Times/Sam Sifton: St. Anselm, 1 star
New York/Adam Platt: Ellabess, 1 out of 5 stars
Time Out New York/Jay Cheshes: Marble Lane, 3 out of 5 stars
Insatiable Critic/Gael Greene: Wong
New Yorker/Andrea K. Scott: Maison Premiere
Village Voice/Lauren Shockey: Forcella
Bloomberg/Ryan Sutton: Gilt, 1.5 stars

Chicago:
Time Out Chicago/Julia Kramer: Prasino, 2 out of 5 stars

San Francisco:
SF Gate/Michael Bauer: Southern Pacific Smokehouse, 2 stars
SF Weekly/Jonathan Kauffman: Piccino

Boston:
Boston Globe/Devra First: Legal Harborside, 2.5 stars
