Earlier this week, Travel + Leisure released a list of the best cities in the US for "foodies." Now LivingSocial has come out with a list of its own of the "top ten dining out scenes in the country." And, wouldn't you know it, these two arbitrary lists are not very similar at all. New York City places first this time around, while New Orleans is nowhere to be seen in the top 10 despite very definitely being the No. 1 best city in the US for "foodies." Meanwhile, Seattle — the No. 7 best city on Travel + Leisure's list — ranks as one of the worst dining out cities on this particular survey. Okay.

LivingSocial's survey also turned up some very interesting facts about Americans. Namely, that Americans are unhealthy people who like to use terms like "experimental eaters," "foodies" and "locavores" to describe themselves and who have recently discovered Thai food. People also like to eat with their spouses at restaurants, sometimes for lunch and sometimes for dinner.

The list:

1. New York
2. Chicago
3. San Francisco
4. Houston
5. Dallas
6. Washington, D.C.
7. Miami
8. Los Angeles
9. Philadelphia
10. Atlanta
