Looting Didn't Hurt London Restaurant Sales

Despite the rioting this that forced Michelin-starred restaurants to fight off looters with rolling pins, London restaurants and pubs actually experienced a growth in sales this summer. Collective sales went up 3.7 percent compared to August of last year, according to a group that tracks these statistics, which is quick to add that "this is not to diminish the devastation caused to individual businesses caught in the centre of the rioting nor the disruption caused across the wider market as sites were forced to close at the height of the trouble."
