Last week writer/editor/Twitter aficionado Ruth Reichl told Haaretz that she's "in the process of finishing the script for a romantic comedy" based on her 2005 memoir Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise. Haaretz also reported that Anne Hathaway will be starring in the film.
Update: Grub St reporting that Hathaway's rep denies the claim.
Garlic and Sapphires recounts Reichl's six-year tenure as the New York Times food critic from 1993 to 1999. Hathaway will likely be more glamorous than any critic, past or present.
More info: According to Reichl, the English novelist and screenwriter David Nicholls "did a pass" at the Garlic and Sapphires script. Hathaway is also starring in Nicholls' film adaptation of his novel One Day that comes out later this month.
