The Food Network is casting grandmas and grandpas for a pilot titled My Grandmother's Ravioli. They're looking for people from the New York Tri-State area aged 50-100 that are "fantastic home cooks with big personalities."
The premise of the show is teaching non-cook, Mo Rocca, how to make a great meal by exploiting charming senior citizens and their family recipes. According to the email, "accents & English as a second language is not a problem," but ideally, grandma and grandpa should be, "warm, fun, outgoing, fiery, perfectionists, or even curmudgeonly." Here are the details:
How to apply:Please send a recent picture of yourself or Grandma or Grandpa to: Realpeoplecastingnyc@gmail.com
Include background in cooking, favorite dish and why you would like to teach Mo how to cook. If you have a funny story about yourself - let us know.
If you are submitting for someone else – your grandmother or grandfather – please tell us a little about them – their age, personality, where they live and what their food specialties are.
Please include all contact information: email, telephone numbers and address.
