On the grand opening night of Gordon Ramsay's new Montreal restaurant Laurier Gordon Ramsay, there was a sprinkler malfunction and the restaurant was evacuated. The restaurant's Twitter account called the sprinkler going off "a problem." A statement was released declaring: "The situation is under control. The restaurant experienced very limited damage. The inspection of the sprinkler equipment will continue on Thursday morning, with updates to follow." So far, they're closed for lunch today. Last November Ramsay (along with partners) bought the 75-year old Rôtisserie Laurier BBQ with plans to turn it into a nationwide chain. An inauspicious start.
