Joey Chestnut Wins Nathan's Famous With 62 Hot Dogs

Joey Chestnut won the men's division of the annual Nathan's Famous hot dog eating competition yesterday, putting away 62 hot dogs in ten minutes. And while that is quite a few hot dogs, it's not as many as Takeru Kobayashi knocked out at his rogue event at a bar in Manhattan: Chestnut's exiled competitor managed to squeeze in 69 hot dogs. (The president of Major League Eating, the group behind the official contest, called Kobayashi's stunt "a farce.")

Meanwhile, Sonya "Black Widow" Thomas became the contest's first ever women's division champion after managing to eat 40 hot dogs in ten minutes. Here are videos of both the official competition as well as Kobayashi's event:
