Food Industry Employees Focus of New Weight Loss Show

A new weight loss TV show will focus exclusively on overweight chefs, line cooks, servers and anyone else in the food industry. Hell, even food bloggers, sommeliers and employees in the commercial fishing industry are welcome to respond to the casting call going on right now.

The show's description takes great pains to state "This is NOT a reality show!" The producers, who also did Kitchen Nightmares and Celebrity Fit Club, prefer the term "docu-series." However it was only a matter of time before the two major forces propelling reality TV ? weight loss and cooking ? collided in a single program. Industry members who need to lose 75 pounds or more can apply by sending in a few photos and a 300-word essay. That's a cinch compared with Top Chef's 25-page application, plus producers probably won't ask you to create a dish inspired by a Christmas carol.
