Want to be a chef? Get in line: for-profit culinary schools have seen a 20% jump in enrollment each year for the past two years. Career Education Corp., which operates the Le Cordon Bleu schools in the US, has seen a 46% increase since 2008, which, at over $30,000 per student, means there's quite a bit of money in cooking degrees. But not for students: they're still largely relegated to the same low-paying line cook positions they could've gotten without going to school.
