In a fun attempt to cash in on the farmers' market trend, toasty sandwich purveyor Quiznos is now serving "Farmers' Market Salads," available nationwide for a limited time. Is the produce actually from a farmers' market? It is unclear.
So why are they called Farmers' Market Salads? Because they "bring the fresh and delicious tastes of summer farmers’ markets to customers" and are "on trend with what our customers are purchasing at fine dining establishments." Also, they use ingredients like pumpkin seeds, fresh mozzarella, and acai vinaigrette. Hmm, didn't think you could buy acai berries at US farmers' markets.
