High Schoolers Flout Rainbow Pride Ban With Cupcakes

New, 7 comments

After a Catholic school in Canada banned rainbows at a student anti-homophobia event, some enterprising high schoolers got sneaky and baked rainbows inside cupcakes being sold as a fund-raiser. Administrators at St. Joseph's Catholic Secondary School in Ontario said rainbows are associated with gay pride, hence not OK.

Students belonging to the school's unofficial gay-straight alliance baked the stealth rainbow cupcakes, then went one step further by frosting them in different colors and arranging the cupcakes in an actual rainbow. Oh, snap. The cupcakes sold for 50 cents each and reportedly raised about $200 for charity.
