Is the Stumptown Investor Going on an Acquisition Spree?

The mystery surrounding the sale of popular Portland, Oregon coffee roaster Stumptown continues: Willamette Week says a "coffee industry executive" has confirmed that founder Duane Sorenson has sold 90 percent of the company to investment firm TSG. Sorenson has not yet confirmed that number, and told the New York Times "I still own Stumptown."

Stumptown isn't the only small, high-end coffee roaster that interests TSG, either. Roasters including Blue Bottle in California, Counter Culture in North Carolina, New York's Joe, and others have all reported being contacted by TSG.
