Last night in Austin, the International Association of Culinary Professionals held their annual cookbook awards, honoring the best in food writing, photography, design, and journalism over the last year. Dave Arnold, director of technology at The French Culinary Institute, and Chris Young, co-author of Modernist Cuisine hosted the celebration, now in its 25th year.
René Redzepi's cookbook Noma: Time and Place in Nordic Cuisine came up big, winning in the "Food Photography and Styling" category as well as the Design Award. Dorie Greenspan's Around My French Table: More Than 300 Recipes From My Home To Yours won "Cookbook of the Year" and in the "General" category.
Amanda Hesser's The Essential New York Times Cookbook won in the "Compilations" category, and Hank Shaw's Hunter Angler Gardener Cook won in the blog category for the second year in a row.
