We've heard of bars charging extra for ice, but we haven't heard of this: a Sonic in Tennessee charged a customer $.40 for the privilege of drinking his Powerade ice-free. And, as if that wasn't enough, the offending charge occurred during Sonic's Happy Hour, during which drinks are usually half off.
Sonic responded to the charge by noting that while local markets "have flexibility in their pricing," this particular charge "does not follow the intent of the Happy Hour promotion." Which, presumably, is not to piss people off with surprise charges.
