There's a lengthy post on Gawker explaining the recent controversy concerning an allegedly anti-gay incident at a Starbucks in Long Island, NY. As the story goes, a woman named Missy Alison stopped in for some coffee and witnessed "a gay male employee named Jeffrey [be] reprimanded by another, female employee in front of everyone in the cafe," as well as a long homophobic rant from the "castigatrix." Starbucks, which has a nice track record with the LGBTQ community, claims that Jeffrey The Employee quit "on his own" and that the company is getting to the bottom of the matter. [Gawker]
