Watch Stephen Colbert Take the Marshmallow Test

Inspired by a recent episode of Sesame Street, Stephen Colbert decided to take the marshmallow test, an experiment in deferred gratification that dates back to 1972. After all, he notes, "Sesame Street has always been about indulging your impulses," such as the occasional "blackout cookie bender."

What begins as the Comedy Central host popping marshmallows repeatedly into his mouth soon devolves into Colbert dunking a spear of broccoli into a jar of marshmallow fluff. He concludes that it can indeed be very difficult to wait for marshmallows. He adds, "I feel the same way about Grover meat." And also, apparently, juicy blue-furred slabs of Cookie Monster meat. Here's the video.
