Chef José Andrés is in New York for the Beard Awards and was on the Today Show this morning, showing off his kid-friendly vegetable strategy: slicing carrots into butterfly shapes. Also: Huh? He only had about three minutes, but somehow managed to turn out a vegetable fried rice without burning it (too much) and drop a history lesson on sixteenth century Spanish king Philip II.
