A Popeyes in Brooklyn closed down suddenly, leaving behind a disturbing blanket of fly carcasses and an even more disturbing odor that is fouling up the neighborhood something fierce. It's not clear what's causing the smell, but neighbors interviewed by local news outlets say it wafts for blocks, and has been around for weeks.
Video footage of the padlocked Popeyes is light on narration but does pan to gag-inducing images of piles of tiny carcasses, and a close-up of flies clustered on the sign announcing an "A" grade from the New York City Department of Health.
